We trekked from Forest Camp to Shira 1 Camp (3508m) on the western edge of the Shira Plateau. The distance to Shira 1 was 7.7km and the terrain was beautiful. We began hiking through forests and made our way up onto the heather and across some fantastic ridges until we got our first clear view of the Mount Kili peak in the distance.
