Abu Simbel… the best for last...

We were very happy to visit Abu Simbel as the last temple on our tour. It is in amazing condition and, even though it's a 3-hour journey by car into the desert to get there, is totally worth it. The hieroglyphic and carvings are detailed and intact, and a lot of paint is still clear and visible. Add to this the massive edifices of both temples built by Ramses II and the massive Lake Nasser unfolding at the base of the temple… an incredible site.
