Off to Seoul for a weekend workshop...

This past weekend I was so lucky. I went to Seoul for an AP English workshop and was reminded of the many things I love about Korea. Kimchi, spicy food, fun socks, green tea, cute stationary, the lights of Myeongdong, the pottery and laid-back atmosphere of Insadong, more kimchi... the list could go on and on. We were incredibly lucky to live in Korea for four years and being back, even for a few days, felt so comfortable and lovely. In addition, the workshop was informative and helpful. I have returned to Concordia with myriad ideas for my classes. I traveled with my English colleague and friend Eileen, and it was a thoroughly wonderful weekend. Now... back to work...      :)

The Will Foundation...

Concordia has service projects related to a few amazing children's home in Shanghai, and one is with the Will Foundation, a home where 10 special needs children are loved and educated. I had the opportunity to spend Saturday morning there this week and was blessed with lots of playtime with 6-year-old Mary. It was so much fun and she was wonderful!    :)

Christmas in China!

Somehow I missed blogging about anything in November and December, even though many wonderful things happened. For 9 days over the Christmas holidays, the best present was having our 3 beautiful daughters visit, along with Jon, Rebecca's partner. What a wonderful, wonderful time! We did a lot of sight-seeing in Shanghai, Beijing, Xian and Wuzhen, and celebrated New Year's Eve at Cloud 9 in the Jin Mao Tower, possibly the highest bar in the world. It was such a blessed time and we shared so much love and laughter. We are so blessed.
